Sligo Lions Club Motorbike Poker Run – Charity Fundraiser

On Sunday, 27th September 2026, the streets of Sligo will once again come alive with the roar of engines and the spirit of community as Sligo Lions Club hosts its second Motorbike Poker Run. This unique charity event invites motorbike enthusiasts from near and far to take part in a scenic ride across the region, collecting cards at checkpoints along the way, with prizes awaiting the best and worst poker hands at the finish.

But this isn’t just for riders. We welcome the public to join us at Queen Maeve’s Square, where dozens of gleaming machines will be on display. Families, friends, and bike lovers of all ages can meet the riders, enjoy the spectacle, and share in the excitement of the day.

Behind the fun lies a serious purpose. Sligo Lions Club is built on the belief that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things through volunteering. This year, we are supporting Barnardos in their work. Barnardos is Ireland’s leading children’s charity, helping children to be the best they can be. They do this through early intervention, by working with families, and by supporting the children who need them most. We can only do this with your support.

For over 30 years, the Sligo Lions Christmas Food Appeal has supported families in need across County Sligo with vouchers and hampers. This year, we will split the money raised between these two deserving causes.

By taking part—whether riding, spectating, or simply donating—you’ll be helping us continue these vital projects. Join us for a day of community, charity, and chrome. Together, we can turn passion into impact.
